I spotted this for sale on eBay, in a modelling category. Does anyone know what it is?

I can't get the images to display from my Imgur account. Hopefully you can access them.

It's marked with the name Auto Union and the 4-ring logo. It's apparent provenance is that it was taken from a German signals vehicle towards the end of WW2. The seller thinks it's comms-related: a soldering device, perhaps. But it could be part of the vehicle equipment. It has a removable reservoir for liquid, which the seller assumes to be fuel. I wondered if it might be a heater.

Could it be an aid for starting in cold weather?

...it will eventually be used to kill someone in 'Game of Thrones'.

As far as posting problems--remove the "s" from "https" after you paste and that should remove the security protocol from the address.*

*I don't know what I'm talking about, but that's what works for me when I copy & paste from my smugmug account.

I've never seen one close up, but it may have something to do with the exhaust system, but if it was, it was only used on Russian armor, it's easy to imagine the the Germans commandeered some of those monster-like behemoths!!

This one is clearly German-made. And it isn't all that large. No idea of dimensions, but the handle at one end is probably sized for a hand. That would make it about a foot long.
