Hi all, here is my completed 1/48 CCKW tractor and F-2A fuel trailer in USAAF service. The tractor was converted a few years back, using the Tamiya fuel truck kit as a basis. Evergreen styrene was used extensively in this conversion. The trailer is an all resin kit from Tarmac in France. It has some serious shape and lack of detail issues, that were corrected with Tamiya two-part epoxy putty, Evergreen styrene, and various other small items from brass and aluminum. Tamiya and Mig Ammo paints were used, weathering achieved using artist's oils, Vallejo paints, washes, and pigments. The PSP base is resin, and was produced by Just Plane Things about 15 years ago.

Any reasonably accurate drawings that you know of?
I had considered the French Resin, but managed to obtain a Revel White Gas Truck as a basis for a chop-shop trailer.

Hi Jon, have not seen drawings but did download and print out the maintenance manual. I had the Revell kit, also contemplated using that until the Tarmac kit was released.

I have been looking for F-1/F-1A fuel trailer TM's but cannot find it, I know there are various archives, but I do not have access to them, could you post the link from where you got it?

Hi Jon, I did a Google search about 3 years ago and found it. Did not keep a link or bookmark though, sorry.

Dan, Thank you for your courteous reply,  If you recollect the TM-numbers, please post as they don't exactly trip off the tongue :-) & some American Archives won't allow a search from this side of the pond!
The quest continues lol.

You’re very welcome Jon, if I can find something will pass it along for sure. FYI that the manual I had was for the F2 trailer anyhow. Either way, hope you can find what you need!

Hi Jon, spent about 20 minutes looking and can't locate the TM for the F-1 or F-1A. However, did find this discussion page, which may be of help as far as images. Will keep it in mind, and if anything shows up will post it here. Have a good weekend,

Dan
