Well published photos of initial allotment of Panzer Regiment 5. The lone panzer appears in cine film on critical past. Would like to identify in the sense of knowing the 3 digit turret numbers. I don't think the palm tree insignia was applied at this point. Thanks for any help.

Hey Bill

First photo - 611 and 612 in the background
Second photo - 615

The tanks probably do have the insignia on the front, but on 6 coy tanks they are always obscured by spare tracks or something. 615 and others did have the insignia on the side though.

Interesting. That's 3 ausfurung f I located in Pz Regiment 5. 615 looks like a candidate for my old 1/30 scale Nichimo if I can find a decal. Cheers.

Hi Bill,

Number '612' is actually an Ausf.G. There is a photo of it from the rear in the Concord book I wrote on the Afrikakorps that shows the top hinged starter port cover on the rear plate. It's on page 27 if you have it.

Tom

Hi Tom, yes I have the book and I was aware 612 is a G. 611 is obviously a G from the cuppola. The other ausfurung F I know of are 525 and 625, photos located in Panzer Tracts. Cheers.
