Here's my North Vietnamese BTR-40 with ZPU-1 anti-aircraft gun mount.
Based on some reference photos from the Vietnam War featuring the same
vehicle and a twin ZPU gun.

BTR-40 is the new Trumpeter kit, ZPU-1 comes from the Meng Models
Toyota Hilux kit.

I added bags, soldier's kit and ammo boxes to the interior.

Enjoy.

The paints are all Tamiya acrylics, for the main coating as well as the weathering. I usually
make my own blends using what's available.

I tried to get the effect of Vietnam red earth with a mix of Tamiya Khaki, Red Brown and Red,
and that mix was thinned and misted over the lower portions of the vehicle, the wheels and
the front. The vehicle itself was painted with Tamiya Field Gray/Dark Green mix, and centers
of each panel were sprayed with a lighter shade of that colour, made by adding Tamiya Flesh.

Cheers,
Brano
