What is the best 1/72 kit of the 88mm FlaK36?

Which of the many Sd.Kfz 135/1 Lorraine (15cm) models is the best?
(I am suprised at how many different manufacturers make this kit, considering not many of the vehicles were converted.

Does anyone make a 1/72 7.5cm Le/FK 18?

Thanks, David.

The Revell Germany 88 is on a different level than any other small scale 88, and the addition of the Kommandogerat 40 predictor is a once undreamt-of luxury. The new Revell SdKfz 7 is the perfect tractor. Only crews will have to be sourced elsewhere.

Zvezda Flack is also very good - it includes a crew of 4 personnel. Revell+Zvezda is a best choice

Hi Dave,
I have found no 7.5 cm leFK 18 kits but one can be theoretically built, perhaps using an ACE 10.5 leFH 18 howitzer kit. It will need changes to barrel and trails among others I think. I've been toying with building one of these for years.

Revell is by far the best 8.8 cm Flak 36. The Hasegawa 8.8cm Flak 36 kit is not really even a Flak 36, but a Flak 18 with a Flak 36 barrel. (A Flak 36 is defined by the trailers, carriage and sighting mechanisms, NOT the barrel.)

I have a Retrokit 15cm leFH 14 on the Lorraine chassis and it is okay. I don't know of others. Have you checked at On The Way website for kit reviews?

Stephen, given the differences, which 88 kit would best illustrate a model from North Africa in 1941 or 1942, the Revell, Hasegawa or Zavrada?

Sad news re the 7.5cm FK, I had hoped that being German someone would have made one.

Re the SdKfz 135, I was not aware of the Retrokit. The ones I have seen advertised over the years have been made by; Modeltrans, US casts, Alby, Exokit and AP.

As for "on the way" I have only seen kit lists, I did not know they did reviews. Have they done any on the Lorraine?

Our reviews are athttp://www.onthewaymodels.com/reviews/kitreviews.htm and previews are linked to in the kit lists. Check out our search function for your Lorraine. IIRC I do believe we have something on the Lorraine .
