I'll be heading to Oahu in about 10 days and was wondering if there were any hobby shops to check out while I was there?

Google the location of The Armchair Adventurer, they moved a block away from the location in the article, but still within a 5 minutes walking distance from the shop pictured.

or Wellers on the Windward side

Hope this helps!

Great shop, stacked floor to ceiling. Their credit card machine is on the fritz, so cash only at this pont. 10% off all plastic models. Glen always has the latest Dragon kits.

Hi Chris,

I may be headed to Oahu soon. Knowing you are an expert at digging up military vehicles monuments/museums, please do let me know if you found any that are worth visiting on the island.

I for one WILL be visiting the hobby stores mentioned to add them to my "collection"!

Cheers!

Y.C.,
Here's a quick list of vehicles and locations that I already know of:

Barbers Point Naval Air Museum: M60A3 x 2; M901; M110A2; M578; misc soft-skins.
Tropic Lightning Museum at Schofield Barracks: M4A3(76)HVSS; M59 APC; M114 155mm howitzer; 105mm howitzer (not sure if M101 or M102); M167 towed Vulcan.
Ft DeRussy: M24 Chaffee; Type 95 Ha-Go; misc items
Pacific Aviation Museum on Ford Island has several soft-skins.

If there are any others to be found, I'm sure I'll track them down as I'll be there for a couple of weeks. As I just picked up a new laptop, I should be able to post some pics while I'm there, at least that is the plan.

Hello Chris,

This is perfect! They have a Type 95 Ha Go there, that will make it worthwhile for me. I haven't seen one since I visited the Patton Museum in Kentucky many years ago.

I am still deciding on where to visit in the Honolulu area but USS Missouri is definitely one of them.

I will be paying close attention to your website for pictures.

Thanks!
