Well, it's no surprise the raffle held at the AMPS International Show is a big hit, not just for the society, but for raffle ticket buyers as well. Kits, aftermarket sets, figures, tools and reference material make up this colossal mountain of eye candy. Over the years, model manufactures, show vendors, persons preferring anonymity within AMPS ranks and individual members all have generously contributed kits, tools, figures, aftermarket sets, reference materials and even gift cards to help provide a jaw-dropping, much envied mountain of modeling goodness to offer raffle ticket buyers at the big show. For those of you who have contributed in the past, regardless of the amount or when, I and the AMPS society thank you very much; it helped make the AMPS raffle experience what it is today. As you may know, the proceeds from the raffle goes directly into the AMPS treasury to help supplement the Boresight (along with membership dues), show supplies to include medals and awards, and donations to various armor preservation projects.
In preparing for this year's show, as in the past, we are soliciting and receiving raffle donations from manufacturers and vendors. Now we are calling on AMPS members to look into their stashes to identify items they are willing to donate to the raffle. We are looking for the following items in new or unused condition and complete:
newer released kits, figures (resin and plastic), aftermarket sets (conversions and upgrades), reference materials, tools and diorama-related items (structures, furniture, vegetation, trees, etc.). Like the manufactures, show sponsors and vendors, AMPS member donations have always come through to make the raffle items available all the more enticing. So, we are asking for folks to look through your stashes, collections and man cave secret storage compartments for things to donate. If you've identified some items for donation, drop Frank Ciccarella, our AMPS 'raffle king' at firstname.lastname@example.org to let him know that you would like to donate and what you are providing.
You can either send them to:
Frank J. Ciccarella
5628 W. 89th Street
Oak Lawn, IL 60453
or bring them to the show if you are attending.
As always, your donations are appreciated and directly help support various AMPS endeavors.
