251 ausf D rear doors

251 ausf D rear doors

Could the rear doors on 251s (and 250s) be latched open against the rear wall (180 degrees) or just gravity inspired 90 degrees?

Interesting question.

Looking at my refs on the 251 Ausf D I can't see any locking mechanism neither have I seen any photos of them held back on the rear wall. So just gravity. Think the same for the 250 also.

I am currently working on an ausf a and the only thing I see is a stop on the top hinge so the door could open so far but no lock
