looking at this as a kitbash in 1/72, andn going through the To&E of the Recon Battalion/2.Company..how would these be used? as platoon leader AFVs(I found 250/10 listed and wondered if the 250/11 was also used in that role?)

David,

the 250/11 with sPzBu 41 should be part of the Heavy Company in GD AA which was 5th Company and the 250/11 were part of the Anti-Tank section within this company. Listed under KStN 1127 (gp).

Hopes this helps

Hi,
I have always thought these straps were for attaching the cargo bin which is sometimes present on these vehicles. Perhaps they also served as braces to give the flimsy bin some rigidity.

Hi,

the metal braces (for lack of a better word) on the right fender were a GD unit modification. They were there to keep stowed jerrycans in place. A pair of braces held one can, for a total of five. So in the first photo, some braces have already gone the way of all military equipment.

Regards,
Christoph

David,

here is a picture of a 250/3 with what looks like either water or fuel cans.
