Does anyone know of a 1/72 (or 1/76 at a push) model (any medium) of the 149mm L/28 gun as used by the Italians in WWII?

Waterloo 1815 do a 149/40 gun in 1/72. Aimed at wargamers. It is in fairly hard plastic according to Plastic Soldier Review - I think that means it's at the harder end of the range of 'soft' plastic figure material. PSR review can be found by this link.

Thanks Keith, but I've got that one. It's a kit for the L/28 that I need.

Not knowing that much about Italian artillery I wasn't sure if they were the same weapon or not! Good luck with your search. Keith.

Hi all, not being familiar with the several Italian-based cottage industries,-I still seem to recall one of them making this old gun in resin 1/72 scale? ( I assume this is the ancient WW1 piece using "wheel chocks" for recoil, and again used briefly in 1940/41?)

I thought it was the same firm who made the resin Semovente, can't recall the name-perhaps out of production now? Regards, Mark.

Hi David

In two online references and one of my books I have found the following quote: "Also Italian Army used 15 cm sFH 18 howitzer, but called it Obice da 149/28."

So according to these references the German heavy 15-cm sFH 18 gun howitzer is the 149/28 in Italian use. This gun is made by ACE and Planet Models in 1/72, and also served mounted in the Hummell made by ESCI and Dragon.

I hope this is what you are looking for.

Lorenzo.

That is the 149/35.
I have that model too.
It's the 149/28 that I'm looking for.
