That piece is good all of the way through...
Competitors take losing hard. They hate to lose, it bothers them, it ruins their day. I’ve been in literally hundreds of locker rooms over 20 years in this business and this was the first losing one that wasn’t quiet and somber.

The fact there was any buzz at all, much less the kind of silliness that was going on Sunday speaks volumes about the Bengals. That also speaks volumes about a lack of leadership and accountability.

Those things point to Lewis as he sets the tone for the team and organization. The fact that he is willing to put up with a clown like Vontaze Burfict speaks volumes about why there is no accountability among the players.
That, my friends, it what becoming "bungleized" is all about. That sense of not really caring filters down from management, which means it comes ultimately from Mike Brown himself.

And speaking of Mike Brown not caring, he's going to re-sign Marvin Lewis at the end of the season.

There are a couple of coaches I'd like the Bungs to keep. Marvin isn't one of them. IMO it's time to start over. It's time to go outside the organization and hire a proven winner as a head coach. This HC needs to be free to hire his own assistants. The less input MikeyBoy has the better the team will be.

Clearly as this article pointed out the Bengals resemble more of a country club or fraternity than a team with one common goal. I'm certain that if it weren't for a near mutiny after the Houston loss that Ken Zampese would still be the OC and the Bengals would be 1-5 at best. This team needs to be shocked into a new attitude and those who don't buy into it need to be left behind. Giggles has lost this team. Tom Coughlin is the first name that came to my mind as a HC candidate. He runs a tightly disciplined ship and doesn't put up with crap from the players. Greg Shiano, OSU's DC would make a good one too. There are two strict coaches, both azzholes yes, but that's what these party boys need.

It would also mean we'd no longer have to listen to Marvin telling us Jeremy Hill needs to be the #1 RB so Joe Mixon can learn. Of all the moronic and insulting things he's ever said that might have been the worst.

As nice as it was to see a Bengals player mutiny have the outcome of firing Zampese who sucks and should never have had the job... a good HC doesn't permit mutinies. Every player in NE knows that if you rebel against Bill Belicheck you will be promptly escorted out of the facility.

"Burfict played Sunday, though, you wouldn’t know it because he barely did anything to affect the game. He did kick Steelers fullback Roosevelt Nix after a play but that’s the only significant thing he did. He has been fined and suspended multiple times for similar acts and frankly, he isn’t good enough of a player for anyone to put up with his nonsense.

The Bengals just signed Burfict to a three-year extension and that means Lewis is his chief enabler . Come to think of it, maybe the reason Burfict yucks it up so much with his teammates after an embarrassing beat down by the Steelers is that he knows he is stealing money."

You know--you would think that this article would have been written by some editor a little West of Pittsburgh.

Also, I'm not sure that Lewis is an "enabler". He's more of a "zookeeper". Mike Brown is the enabler. Last time we all checked, Mike Brown was still writing the checks to boneheads like Burfict.

....and yeah, Nati Fans, this columnist is correct. Burfict ISN'T GOOD ENOUGH to be pulling the sh*t that he does. Burfict probably thinks he's right up there with the Sam Huffs of the world.

Reality to Vontaze. Come in, Vontaze. Reality is--is that you are an upgrade from Rey Maulaluaga. That's not saying much.

Oldschooler, zookeeper is the wrong term. Ringmaster is the right one. You know how I know? Mike Brown said so. I couldn't find the full quote in a search and wondered if I remembered it wrong, but then I saw that Storm once had it for a sig:

Q: How is Chad and Marvins relationship?

A: Marvin is the Ringmaster

Mikey admitting this organization is a circus

WHO!?!?!?!?

What "proven winner" will come to work for Mike Brown? Someone with a winning record maybe (i.e. Chuck Pagano, who would be a huge downgrade from Marvin) but an actual "winner?"

Blame it on Marvin all you want. Once Mikey decided to keep Whitworth and Zeitler's money, no coach in the world could win with this shhit.

Hearing that the players were joking around in the locker room after the loss really disturbs me as a fan, but it doesn't surprise me either. After seeing crap like that go on after losing to your biggest rival why should I have any hope in this team? It also makes me hate Marvin that much more for being so devoid of leadership and accountability like he always has been. Marvin has to go before anything changes, as does Mikey. It just disturbs and angers me as a fan that the players would be acting like that after a loss. All it tells me is that there is not one person in the entire organization, front office, coaches, or players, that gives a damn about winning. And for Marvin to come out and give his typical presser with the usual series of idiotic comments, yeah that crap is getting old too.

As someone else pointed out this is a form of bungalization. I think deep down the team knows the season is over so why not have a good time when they are playing out the string and collecting mikey's paychecks. Sad town this is - even the soccer team got bounced out of the playoffs first round in keeping with the tradition the Reds and bungs have started.
