*but you may have worked that out...

Hello all.

Friday 20th January 2017.

Does the world end on Friday or are we in for a brave new world?

Not sure I really trust any politician. Or at least the scale goes from 'really want to' to 'Kim Jong-un'.

And I'm not sure who I mistrust the most; politicians, the press, social media or dodgy football team owners.

Has the world changed so that politics will be conducted over Twitter? Sound-bite politics for the bored, time-scarse, disinterested, hopeless masses?

Sorry, but I don't have an answer; nor can I have any affect on what happens. Which means, again, I don't know how I should feel about this.

Anyhoo, what do you think?

Aaaaaaaa, false outrage. You mean like Obama coming for our guns.

Well, Deliverance Nation has spoken. We've traded a chocolate Eisenhower for a Putin Puppet.

All Golden Shower references aside, do you think deficit spending will double or triple Obama's after a full year of the Putin plan being launched?

Two things...

You actually have people in gov and 4 SCJ that want/say it's OK to outlaw guns. It's not false outrage. It's happened in other countries, you are in denial. The boy placed two such people in the SC.

Debt, never blamed Obama, it's a monster beyond anyone's control.

Don't worry, gays can still do their thing, Muslims can still pray to Allah, women will still own their vaginas, it will still be illegal to harm your precious people of color.

If you think Trump is controlled by Putin, more false outrage.

I agree it took a Clinton to actually deliver a surplus budget, but deficit spending did decrease by two thirds since the days of the Great Bush Recession.

How about a steak dinner challenge? I'll buy you a porterhouse if deficit spending isn't higher after the first full year of any economic initiative that Trump champions and signs into law. Heck, I'll even offer a buffer.....not just higher but 25% higher.

Game on?

It's time for the non-blacks to pay reparations to all blacks for the travesty of slavery! Most African Americans support cash payment reparations (59%), but only 6% of whites do! That has to change!

https://today.yougov.com/news/2014/06/02/reparations/

Bernie Sanders overwhelmingly lost the African American vote to Hillary Clinton, who had over 75% of their support.
http://graphics.wsj.com/elections/2016/how-clinton-won/

He won among white voters in the Democratic primaries, but that's only because too many of them are racist and they don't want to pay what they owe! African Americans comprise roughly double the percentage of voters in the Democratic primaries compared to the general elections, and they're rightly not going to help nominate a Democratic candidate like Sanders who opposed reparations!

Why Precisely Is Bernie Sanders Against Reparations?
http://www.theatlantic.com/politics/arc ... ns/424602/
(quote) For those of us interested in how the left prioritizes its various radicalisms, Sanders’s answer is illuminating. The spectacle of a socialist candidate opposing reparations as “divisive” (there are few political labels more divisive in the minds of Americans than socialist) is only rivaled by the implausibility of Sanders posing as a pragmatist. (unquote)

Bernie Sanders therefore needs educated!

It doesn't matter if your ancestors didn't own slaves! You still benefited from slavery! Only 8% of Americans owned slaves before the Civil War, but so what?! That's like saying that the illegal immigrants from Mexico who are getting underpaid now don't help us all! And their descendants will deserve reparations from all Americans someday too! Not just from the small percentage of wealthy people who hire them, but everybody will owe them because everybody benefits so much from them being here!

And that mentally handicapped young man who was recently kidnapped in Chicago? That wasn't torture! This video explains it.

Another video from that wise person about reparations!

You need to have more empathy toward African Americans, Homey!

Race and Empathy Matter on Neural Level

(quote) In a rare neuroscience look at racial minorities, the study shows that African-Americans showed greater empathy for African-Americans facing adversity - in this case for victims of Hurricane Katrina - than Caucasians demonstrated for Caucasian-Americans in pain. (unquote)

You're right that you have no future as Republicans!

LCD, if god came down and said to each black, "I will erase slavery from your ancestry past and therefore eliminate the burden your generations had to carry, but in doing so, you, your family, and everything you know, may end up in Africa" How many blacks would say yes? Me thinks not many. Actually, they should give thanks.

How about in addition to transporting them back to Africa (their choice of venue there) you would sweeten the pot - say pay them $25K or $50K or an amount that would be agreeable to them?

I'm glad you could tell that I was joking. I put several winking emoticons at the end.

I've spent some time "studying" African American political discussions the last few months, and it's become more clear to me that a "stronger working class" isn't as important to them as the candidate that squawks the most about social justice.

I've seen many comments like, "It's not about class! It's always about race!" The implication is that they are always the victims due to their skin color. Never mind the many injustices and cases of exploitation that happened to white people in this country's history.

Slavery mostly benefited wealthy plantation owners, and those were jobs that could've been filled by paid American citizens instead. Just like illegal immigrants getting paid less than minimum wage mostly benefits their employers today.

If we ever had reparations for slavery, it should have been done shortly after the Civil War and paid by the slave owners. It's a ridiculously impractical idea now, and the fact that about 3/5 of African Americans think it should happen at this point tells me that many of them aren't realistic.

Anyway, I don't think Republicans are in bad shape at all.

African Americans comprised about 40% of the Democratic primary voters in 2016, and they'll probably help nominate more neoliberal candidates in the future, who speak little about big money influence and income inequality, as long as they harp about the injustices against minorities. And a bunch of white, independent working-class voters will continue to wonder who's fighting for them.

I voted left of course in this election. But more and more over the past couple of months I wish I voted right. After seeing the protestors today.... I don't know if I'll go back. I don't ubderstand why you target cops and throw rocks at them. Why? Why do they have to do with Trump? Most may share same views as you but I think they just want to riot and loot and destroy because they have nothing better to do. Seriously... what does destroying Starbucks have to do with Trump. Idiots.

I'm on the Right again. F*CK the liberals.

You'll never convince that the bigger drama queens aren't on the left.

By the way, UK, you may or may not be interested to know that the bust of Churchill is back in the Oval Office.

I like it but no one will have the guts to take you up on it. Unfortunately the double standard of adding to the deficit conveniently only seems to apply to President Obama and not Reagan or W.
