Been meaning to create this thread for a while now :lol3: . Some drawings I've done on the free mode on 'Pokemon Art Academy' for the 3DS. Some are done in free hand but in some of the more recent ones I've drawn, I've used the construction shapes to help me out (especially when it comes to drawing wings and circles, which I hate doing :moody: ).

Artist's note; the backgrounds I use in the pictures aren't my own and are from what I unlock when I progress throughout the game.

Here's a couple of them to get this thread started.

Cyndaquil (a fire type)- Paint; this was me trying to be clever with the shading and lightning (done with construction shapes):

Chandelure (a ghost and fire type)- Felt Tip; again, me trying to be clever with the shading and lightning. Also, I thought I'd post it in as it was appropriate enough for Halloween ;) (also done with construction shapes):

Also, I forgot to mention that I use the camera to take the pics from my 3DS (can't save them on to the SD card within the 3DS) so I apologize if the lightning isn't good on some of them  .

I remember liking Pokémon a lot years ago.

Cyndaquil looks very cute. Very nice colors.

I'm not familiar with Chandelure, but good job with him to begin with.

Thanks Eternal! Chandelure is from the Black and White series from the DS ;)

Hi there Moonknight321, thanks for the comment! Hmm, sequential art? I don't think I've ever heard of it before, what is it [thinking] ?

You're welcome! Sequential art is like comic book art. Telling a story through pictures. If you're interested in a chance to try it out, I may have an opportunity for you. Shoot me a message if interested.

Here's a paint drawing I did of Mew- A psychic type Pokemon...and my favourite legendary Pokemon too [happy] . Again, me trying to be clever with the shading and lightning:

Pachiricu (an electric type Pokemon) in pastel (me being clever with shading and lightning again):

One of a female Pikachu (an electric type...and also a female because of the "dip" in its tail. The males tails are straighter) in paint with shading and lightning. The flower on its ear was of my own design :D :

Yup they were all done with construction shapes.

Here's one I did of Cyndaquil using felt tip a while back...and done by my own hand. No construction shapes used whatsoever:

A paint image of Omanyte, a water-rock type Pokemon (sorry if he looks as if he's hovering; the background had been the basis of a much larger water type <_< ). Yup, it's one of the prehistoric Pokemon too:

A felt tip drawing of the ice type Pokemon Vanilite:

Good stuff, Mags! I like the sea creature. You gave it good depth with the highlights on the creature's skin.

Thanks BT! Omanyte is one of my favourite prehistoric Pokemon. I've another prehistoric Pokemon that I like but I can't spell it without looking <_< . But yeah, that was me trying to be clever with the shading and playing about with some of the features to make it more "showy".

Here's a pic I did of Jigglypuff- a Normal type Pokemon- in felt tip without the use of construction shapes. As you can see, she can do with loosing a few pounds as a result :lol3: (I'm bad at drawing circles without aid, such as a coin):

Here's another one I did of Jigglypuff in paint with construction shapes which turned out better:

A pastel drawing of Lugia- a Flying and Psychic Pokemon. Did the wings using construction shapes (another thing I'm not good at doing without some sort of aid) but the rest of his body I did without any aid. I chose the background because it reminded me of my favourite Pokemon film 'Pokemon 2000'; Lugia's first appearance in the animi:

A spray paint version of a pic of Pikachu and Piplup (a Water type) I've been meaning to do for a while now:

A drawing I did of the dragon type Dratini using construction shapes and a felt tip. It was meant to be a comic book style drawing with the shadows and such but I only realised afterwards I didn't put in the highlights :moody: :

A paint drawing I did of the electric Pokemon Plusle (the red one) and Minun (the blue one) using construction shapes, complete with shading and lightning:

Thanks BT! I like to add shadows and highlights to my drawings. Makes them stand out and a bit more life like.

I know there's a lot of cute Pokemon at the moment I've been posting in but there's not many Pokemon on the subject page to draw that aren't cute. I know you can download more images to draw via internet but I've not been able to do that for some reason :moody: ...
