I know mgs3 has been out years now, but this is a game that is still loved and hated by many. I figured this thread means that people can fan boy, rage, ask questions and discuss the game generally here.

I personally loved mgs3. The game offered us loads of new gameplay elements to play around with as well as giving Big Boss' character a bit more depth so he was more than just the lunatic we all knew from MG and MG2.

Why did nobody make a general chat for MGS3 before? Yeah, MGS3 is a great game, I loved it. It's a shame it wasn't much open world because it would've been great, but hey, MGS3 is still a kickass game

He mentioned something interesting... Konami, they claim that what they're doing in Casinos are the missing piece... money, to surpass video games.

I loved it when I first time (maybe a year after relase) discovered that I could poison the guard with a poisonous species. :D That felt so awesome as a kid.

Great stuff, I often have random thoughts about the games that can only be posted in a general chat.

Man I love the small bullshit details in this game.
Its shit like Snakes eyes adjusting to the dark if you just wait a while in the cave that is something so small and unnoticeable but really shows the attention to detail.

Oh I agree. Adding to the fact (Unless you didn't storm in front of the guards doing so) it added a great way to kill them. One thing I love is The End mission, as we all do...Hopefully if this does get remade, it will be open world and it will be epic...

Something I thought of last night...when the Snake Eater mission begins and The Boss snatches Naked Snakes 1911, disassembles it and just drops the parts on the ground...why couldn't Snake just pick them back up and put it back together? He's already got a pretty big military career and I'm pretty sure that disassembling and reassembling sidearms is something he would've been taught in basic training.

Not to mention how he practically jizzes his pants when Eva gives him the custom 1911 and goes through each part in detail, and goes into even more detail when you call SIGINT with it equipped, so he should've already been able to reassemble it while blindfolded.

If I had to guess for story purposes, I'd say that he was too focused on getting out of that area as soon as possible. The Boss set a massive fiery signal in that area, so he probably had no time to scavenge the area looking for the weapon parts before the soldiers arrived.

It was probably just for gameplay reasons though, an attempt to force the player to be a bit stealthier and resourceful.

It was dark and some of the parts are small and people are coming after him. +When Eva gives him the 1911 it was one of my favorite scenes in the game. So yeah better off that way..
I'm afraid it's been nine years..

Ehh, guess that makes sense, though it was only two guys, not that hard to deal with really, and yeah, that scene was cool.

But IMO, the original 1911 you have at the start looks cooler, or at least the one from MGS4 without the shiny slide.
