I spent 20 on a set of HD projector lights on ebay. They worked ok, but this setup looks a lot brighter. I would paint the interrior of the light metallic and silver not black. It will be brighter. You could also add some small leds around the main bulb to make the "halo" effect. :)

It shouldn't make it any brighter, at least not if my understanding of projector lights is correct.

You are right Blanco, painting the surrounding area has no effect on the lighting physics. The projector is a self contained lighting component. The reflector bowl on the back and lens on the front are the only things working together. The old headlight bracket is just the mount for the whole assembly.

oh ok, I looked at it closer and I can see what your talking about. But if you were to drill holes around the border it will shine some of the light around the black/silver part.
