The leaning tower of Mt. Ivy leans no more. The top section has doubled over. A true folded dipole. And amazingly the station is still on the air.

The station wasn't off the air for very long. Now they have temporary permission to operate non-directionally with 250 watts (nudge nudge, wink wink). And if you believe they're adhering to that, I've got a tower to sell you. Already on the ground for easier takeaway.

FCC gave WRKL 6 months to replace the fallen tower. Was by there today and guess what? No tower. Time's up in just a week. Does the FCC still do inspections?

Drove by WRKL today on what is the 8 month + 1 day anniversary of the tower collapse, expecting to see some new stainless steel in the air. Instead, the old tower stump remains, undisturbed, looking just like it did after the fall. There is no new tower. After going through the motions of securing permission to operate with reduced power for 6 months while they rebuilt, WRKL has done nothing, or in language they would understand, nic.

Over the weekend of 10/28-10-29 another tower collapsed. This was a 185-footer at sister station, WLIM 1580 AM in Patchogue. There are two more towers there waiting to fall, as this is a directional station after dark. A few good pictures of the wreckage are already on the Internet. Maybe someone will share with us. How would you like to be Polnet's insurance company right about now?
The answer to the question posed in the subject line of this post: NEGLIGENCE!!!,

I wonder when the FCC will get involved. Is there any way to notify the commission anonymously? The place has turned into a real wysypisko thanks to Polnet.

SSDD. The tower stump still stands and there is no sign that anything is being done to put up the replacement. I’m not sure who’s stupider, Polnet or the FCC. The STA extension is up in less than a month, on May 2nd.
If the FCC extends the STA further, we’ll have the answer to my question. It’s the FCC!
