My father, Jack Daly, was a stringer for WRKL as well as WNBC am. He and Steve became friends when I was young. I became the babysitter for Steve's daughter, Elizabeth and remained friends with the Possells until Elizabeth was at least 8.
My favorite WRKL story from my Dad: Anyone who knew Steve, knew he was blind. All of his records had braille labels. Jack Daly loved listening to Joni Mitchell, but Steve hated her music. One day, Jack swapped the labels on Steve's records, and Steve UNWILLINGLY played a Joni Mitchell song. He said on the air, "I'll get you, Jack Daly!"
Jack Daly died in May, 2007. While he was in hospice, he was happy to know that Don Imus gave him a big hello on his program.
WRKL was a huge part of Jack Daly's life.
His studio still stands in Stony Point, with reel-to-reels and cassettes galore. We don't know what to do with it all, but we can't seem to part with it either.

Speaking with Steve P., he remembers both you, Kathleen, & your dad very well. And he recalled the incident you told about Jack switching the records on Steve, but said later on, he grew to like Joni Mithchell's music. He loved me reminding him of that on-air moment though! I remember you father's voice from many political commercials that ran on WRKL and other stations back then. Thank you for writing.

I understand that you are the webmaster, but who are you? If possible, please let me know via email if Steve or Elizabeth are available. Patti and Steve were a great influence to me in my teens.
