It's Batman. There's nothing small about him.

I wonder what they’ll show for an encore.
The book is good and cheap at the same time, personally I think DC was trying to hard to do an adult book.

The bad:
To me adult doesn't necessarily mean a lots of blood, spit, hinted expletives, and several other things you will find when you read it,
don't want to spoil it for you.
I am also beyond tired of Batman getting shot and cut and tossed from a roof top just to get back on his feet as fit as a fiddle
it is both repetitive and extremely unreal.

The cliche:
[+] Spoiler
Bruce childhood and its impact on adult Batman, the Joker is back and....at DC it is always Batman and the Joker, Superman and Luthor, Batman and the Joker, Superman and Luthor.......
The good:
[+] Spoiler
We discover the Joker is dead,  Deadman and Constantine are in town and it actually turns out the Joker might not be that dead after all, the story has potential and its going somewhere, lets see how issue #2 goes.

No Batdongs for me, but I did pick-up:

BATMAN #55 -- Looks like something happens here.
MISTER MIRACLE #11 -- Glad other people are enjoying this.
WILDSTORM #17 -- More pieces to the puzzle.
WITCHFINDER #5 -- Love D'Israeli, but the story was middling.

Plus, Steve Ditko's KONGA arrived in the mail and I need to put an order in for KILLRAVEN.

My LCS (Orbital) had indeed kept a copy of Damned for me and had sold out last night. The owner said he had been deluged with phone calls all morning asking whether they still had it. Just been to FP and they were sold out, will wander along to Gosh soon and see how quickly they sold out.

Was impressed with a child of 11 or so calmly telling his mother that the book of Venom she was trying to buy him was too old for him and too weird. He was a really intelligent kid who was trying to lead his parents in the right direction to buy a present for someone, guiding them away from all sorts of age inappropriate stuff. Loads of kids in FP, I know we always say it’s us oldies buying comics but that really doesn’t appear to be the case when I wander around the shops, there are all ages around, and loads of women, which you never used to see.

DC:
Batman Damned #1 (Of 3) - Bat-schlong aside, the art is gorgeous, but I found the story a bit dull. Constantine's English accent seemed a bit "off".
Mister Miracle #11 (Of 12) - The man behind the curtain is revealed, or is he?
Wild Storm #17 - Now that all the players are revealed, I look forward to seeing where Ellis heads next.

Boom! Studios:
Black Badge #2 - A delightfully dark little book.

Dark Horse:
Black Hammer Age Of Doom #5 - The secret is out. Where to next?
Witchfinder The Gates Of Heaven #5 (Of 5) - This one didn't really grab me.

Lion Forge:
Mae Volume 2 #3 - A transition issue, focussing on what's been happening back on Earth.

Best book out there, always leaving readers hanging till the next issue.
I buy digital collections so few floppies for me
Black Hammer: Age of Doom 5
Batman: Damned  1
Killraven Masterworks Vol. 1
Doctor Strange  5
Thor  5
I am dropping Thor the new title started interesting but the cute art is also way too messy, I am giving up.
Dr Strange is going nowhere fast, the new series started with an interesting premise, Doc is out of magic and
decide to travel in space from planet to planet looking for new teachers, and I am falling at sleep in the process
while waiting for anything to happen.

It’s very off. I’m not sure what Azzarello was trying to do, but those speech patterns and word choices work with deep Kentucky, not the fringes of Liverpool. I was wondering who was narrating until it became clear it was Constantine.

It’s an Elseworld, so Constantine having healing powers didn’t throw me as much.
