Class Action Payout

A federal district court judge in Newark, N.J. has ruled that Lucent Technologies violated the requirements of Section 420 of the Internal Revenue Code in administering its health care plan for management retirees. I see the date for the payout has slipped. Does anyone have even a clue how much we are talking about on a per employee basis? I'm just wondering if it's going to be a couple of bucks or something worthwhile.

It is May 17, 2011. Has anyone received a settlement check?

So much for the '9th or sooner' posting.

Lucent Retirees: Why are you not demanding information on the settlement? Why are there only a handful of us posting and asking? There is power in numbers. LRO stand and deliver!

Where is the Money (From Jerry McGuire). I have checked Heffler, Radetich & Saitta web page for an date when there will be distribution of the "Lucent Retiree Medical Settlement" and they have failed to update the progress.

What are they waiting for??? At least give us an update, are we not paying for their service??

and why is the LRO not being proactive? I emailed the attorney and have not received any response, not that I am surprised ... We need to write to the Judge, copy the applicable Bar Associations and the law firm, and also the media - ABC, NBC, CBS et al. I doubt the law firm wants the negative publicity. Again, why are so few of the 50,000 affected recipients just sitting back and letting this go?

I lost about $30K and I get $775. The letter says also that it is taxable.

To answer your question. Yes, the stub explained how the payment was broken down for how much the check was worth.
Also if you have any questions about the payment, contact the claims administrator at 1-888-229-4969 or by email at LucentRetires@Heffler.com.
