I have inquired several times about 3.
Each time I was treated as though it wasn't a choice. I travelled for
Transfer, upon their recommendation instead of sending embryos to
me. It's costly and stressful to travel. I should have demanded 3.
I would feel a lot better about entire trip. I have 4 embryos left. He said
transferring 3 would "mess up the numers". I guess if transferring 2
each time but not 3. I didn't speak up and I'm kicking myself for it.

All in all I feel relaxed in beautiful city even though I'm
alone and on bedrest. Now I'm worried I moved around too
much yesterday. Got up to make sandwhich, showered, made tv dinner. Hope
little movements are ok. Just freaking out about everything. I want it to work
so bad. Wish I demanded 3!!

Thank you all for listening.

Good Luck. I transfered 2 and am pg with twins.
Transferring 2 is good. Relax and stay hydrated. I always flew 24-30 hours from transfer to home the day after transfer and it did not impact my pregnancy rates at all. Remember to breathe and try not to second guess yourself. Good Luck in the coming weeks.

east coast to west coast. Will try to take your good advice.
Hope I will have similar story to tell.

Thanks again:)

Were they frozen in straws of two out of curiosity? If so, you made the perfect choice imho. You know how many women here did fresh transfers only to find success with their less pretty frozens, yes? If not, ask on pink. I am sure you will get many encouraging tales!

Dear Issla,

Congratulations on your transfer I am sure the clinic made a good choice for you.
I moved about a bit when on the bed rest and it was ok, so try and not to worry and think happy positive thoughts.
May I ask which clinic you used?
My wee embie is sending zen thoughts to your two.
Take care and relax
cheers

The clinic is SCRC, however, monitoring was done
where I am from(GA) So technically, they only see me
for transfer. Donor lives in CA so first transfer I
wanted to travel, instead of paying for her to come to
me:). This cycle failed but embryos were frozen and
stayed with SCRC.
I like them ok. However, I just feel like number to them. Which
I probably am.

Thank you for your support. Sending good vibes to
your embie:)

I know the "OMG, what have I done" feeling when the U/S tech tells you, "You know there are two in there, don't you?" I don't want to think about the shock when you hear, "You do realize there are three in there, don't you?" If by messing up the numbers your RE means he'd rather see you have two for each subsequent tx, I can see his point.

So, eat some chocolate and have a cup of something nice w/o caffeine and watch a good movie. You're PUPO! This is the time to focus your positive energy on those embies inside you, not chew on doubts.

Take care, sweetie!

It is rare now to have an RE in the US transfer more than 2 embryos for a DE transfer, unless there are really good reasons. The ASRM guidelines limit transfers to 2 embryos only if the donor is under 35, it doesn't matter if they are day 3 or day 5.

Transferring 1 or 2 is great, any more than that (barring extreme circumstances) makes the RE look reckless IMHO.
