Hi. Had our 5d transfer today. We were presented with a challenge when we got there though. They said they were only going to transfer 1 blastocyst because the quality of the blasts were so great that 1 was all it will take. They said that if they put two in, they could almost guarantee twins based on the quality of our blasts. Not in those exact words, but... They did say they'd transfer 2 if we wanted, but really highly only recommending transferring 1. I was BAWLING because I couldn't make the decision. They showed some stats from their past DE recipients and that helped. We decided to go with 1 since there will most likely be at least 4 and hopefully 5 to freeze.

Has anyone ever had 1 blast transferred and had it work or heard of that working? I'd LOVE some positive words about it to help me feel even better. I'm going to post on the PG after DE board if I can to see if they can share any success stories with me.

Aside from all of that, it went great and beta is 11/28.

Thanks.
Molly

but if and when I do I would definitely only transfer one blast with excellent quality. I think you made a wise choice. And you have several frozen so it was the perfect scenario to make a sound decision. Wishing much good luck to you!!!!

Transferred one blast, we hadn't decided until seeing the grades while on the transfer table. The RE agreed that with perfect blasts, one was the way to go. I think if we had tx 2 I would probably have twins on board right now, not really our goal. I would rather go back and have FETs than risk multiples.

That's what I'm hoping for for myself.

Congrats on your transfer. Hoping your 2WW is as good as it can be. Keep us in the loop (:

Thanks, ladies!! I have had 6 people respond with success stories and I am feeling SO much better. I am confident that we made the right decision.

Not that it matters, but does anyone know what the '1BB' quality of my one warrior blastocyst that was transferred means? I tried to Google for info but can't really figure out exactly what it means. The doctor said it was excellent.

It is such a hard decision. I have always wanted twins so it would have been really hard on me but I am glad that you made the best decision for yourself. I hope that you get a BFP this cycle.

Good luck,
