It has been stressful with the step mother, but he passed away last night April 18th (my mom and his first wife's birthday, what a beautiful present to us children, who love symbolism). So both parents passed away from lung cancer mom at 67 who stopped smoking at 57, and dad at 85 who smoked up until last month. Go figure no rhyme nor reason. So I am a bit stressed and overwhelmed but holding it together more now then I have this week. Thank you all for your support and love you have shown me time and time again. May God continue to lead, guide and bless you and your families.

That seemed to happen very quickly from the time you first posted about it, which I guess could be viewed as a blessing if he is no longer suffering. Thinking of you and your family.

with the passing of my mom recently they come so easily lately. I'm so sorry to hear your news but knowing that he passed on a significant day that was meaningful to your family is a gift. He is at peace and is not in pain. I pray that you and your family have comfort in that and in the days ahead you can find many moments to remember him with joy and love.

The happy memories you have of him will live on in your heart. I lost my Dad two years ago and I can tell you that it was a long while before I could think of him and not cry but most days now I can think of happy/funny Dad memories and smile. Just take it one day at a time. xo

I don't think we are ever ready to lose our parents. My condolences to you and your family.
