Oh well...cycle down the drain

Just went to check my lining for a transfer on the 19th and it shrank again! So, we pulled the plug on the whole cycle and will try again in Jan/Feb. Thank goodness the doctor isn't charging me for this cycle, just for the meds, which were only a couple of hundred and apparently since it was a shared cycle, they just give all the eggs to the other woman. I'm a little relieved since I was on all these medications for a bad cold/cough and a fungus thing. I'm kind of glad all of those will be out of my system before I try again but...ugh. I was hoping to have happy news for Christmas.

These fits and starts can drive a person crazy, I know!

Good luck with everything

But I agree that it really sounds like it was a good call to quit it now and try again in the new year! Good luck!

But like you said it is better to have all the junk out of your system before the transfer. Yahh for small things...right? I'm so sorry I know this sucks. Just think Jan/Feb is right around the corner. And now you can drink the spike egg nog!

Thinking of you!

Have you tried doing estrace as a suppository instead of the patches? I tried the patches, had an allergic reaction and dropped my lining 3 days before egg retrieval. Tried estrace orally and had super high E2 levels but a lining that never got above 6. Next up estrace as a vaginal suppository. Lo'behold I can build a lining up to 13! At my max dose I was doing 2mg 3x daily, and it took me 16 days to get a lining up to 13. So there is always hope.

Now some woman only respond to Del Estrogen (injections) those are unavailable here in Canada, so I have no experience with that. Sorry I know this doesn't make this cycle cancelling any better, but I wanted to let you know you are so not alone on the lining issues.

All my best to you!

Thanks for the suggestions! We hadn't discussed suppositories. I mentioned injections and he said that they're pretty risky for clots. I'm going to send your email to the doctor now though and see what he says.

I got up to at least 13.1, maybe higher. I thought it was a bit extreme.

I was 13mm on my first cycle, and the doctor was very pleased. Wasn't successful, but he didn't think it was excessive FWIW. Maggie (in VA)
