she has been travelling to South Africa to dothis cos donors are so hard to find here in New Zealand..
I'm suggesting immune tx(she has tested negative for everything), and further sperm testing...karyotyping and fragmentation is it?
She's determined to keep trying but has had a hell of a year...also lost her house in the quakes...
She has transferred a total of five great quality DE blasts as well as her two OE cycles and is 45...
Any other suggestions?

HI Laura,
I'm sorry your friend isn't getting pg. I don't know what to suggest if she has had immune testing and so on.
Have they checked for the following as well:
Antisperm antibodies, lupus antiogulant, antiphophilipid syndrome, hydrospinks (you know what I mean).
You know where I went has a 100% success rate with ladies from where I live here... its just a thought. Its also a lot closer and cheaper than S.Africa (airfares etc).
Its so hard when you get a negative. She is lucky to have you Laura, best, THK

Oh, how I feel for her. I can't add anything other than don't give up on your dream. But, from what I've watched from the boards, I definitely think that further testing with the sperm and possibly immune testing could be the answer.

And barge to you. How are you, Silvie and the rest of your family doing?

and thanks for asking about us. Life continues to be beyond weird. It is now normal to be flung out of bed by an aftershock at 1am and throw myself over Silvi's cot and then expect myself (and the rest of the assembled family!) to go back to sleep within ten minutes.
And the beauracracy is just a nightmare. Nothing else compares to it. We are in a Kafka-esque whirlpool game of Chinese Whispers where the insurance company insists they need more information from the Earthquake Commission before deciding whether our house will be demolished and the Earthquake Commission insists they need more info from the insurer....and so around and round we go...and then there's a question mark over the viability of the land as well...
We are now losing a lot of people who are just so fed up at the time lag of the rebuild, of job losses and home losses and friend losses...
We are soldiering on for now; just spent money we had borrowed to renovate the house that many now be demolished, on a little 22 foot trailer sailer that hopefully will keep DH sane. He is struggling to keep his business running; doing really well but the Christchurch economy has taken such a massive body blow.
We cope and cope and cope and then have to get out of town for the weekend every now and then to somewhere with unbroken roads and beautiful character buildings intact...
Silvi continues to delight us more and more each day and her big sister just adores her (and vice versa).. she is becoming a real wee comic; she will do anything for a laugh; lots of waving at strangers and winning smiles and boy is she BUSY!
She doesn't stop even for a minute to just chill; constant climbing and running and laughing. She is just an utter joy.
I want another one, it has become more and more apparent. DH not so sure ....or at least not this year!!
You must be getting mighty close to meeting your little man?

So sorry, Laura. What a heart-wrenching situation. I don't really have advice. Don't know if a surro is at all possible, but I'm one that had success that way.

That, among other reasons, is why I tread very gently on that issue. It's a lot to jump into, and the financial stakes are high. It's just that I'm so amazed each day that this crazy endeavor is what it took for me to have my dd, that when I hear something like this, I have to reach out to say that people really do this!

I so wish her a solution. She is lucky to have you by her side.
