Hello all,

This is my first fertility blog I have been on...looking for support as I am so nervous/hopeful/excited/scared. Last Fall I had 3 failed IUIs and a failed IVF using my own eggs...I was unable to do a transfer because none of the eggs made it past day 3. I am 40 and decided one year later to use donor eggs. I found a great donor and the good news is she had 27 eggs on retrieval day (11/11/11), 17 of which fertilized. Day 3 is tomorrow and I am crossing my fingers that they are looking great as day 3 was such a disappointment on my own cycle.

I have been on Lupron, Estrogen and currently Progesterone in oil shots daily (ouch). As I have never been through this before, for those of you who have, is it normal to almost have ovulation type cramps (mostly on one side). Should it feel like there is some kind of cramping/soreness in the uterus?

Thanks for any advice.

Sounds like your cycle is great! I hope tomorrow's embie report brings more good news. Can't comment of cramping pre-transfer but I did have some cramping after one of my transfers.
GL and keep up posted.

I have had a cramping/fullness feeling this cycle and last. My RE said it was normal since my body is not used to building such a nice, thick lining... like it is building now with the help of the hormones.

I pray that just the right number of eggs are fertilized in just the right way to bring you just the right number of children that God (and/or the universe and/or fate) has intended for you!). PEACE!

Hugs,

CL

I had that and went in and demanded an ultrasound because I was sure I'd ovulated. I had a history of ovulating through the meds with OE. Everything was quiet, though. I do think the meds cause us to cramp more than when you build a lining on your own.

Hope this is it for you!

Yes, I had cramping too. Dr just said it was from the hormones and thick lining. 27 eggs with 17 fertilized is WONDERFUL!! I wish you all the luck that they keep growing

Welcome to the DE journey - everything sounds really good so far and I will keep you in my thoughts.

I had almost constant "ovulation" twinges/cramps during the process...always had the RE check when I got ultrasounds to see if anything was going on over there (always on one side) and there never was...just a side effect perhaps. You will have lots of twinges and aches that you will try to figure out - wishing you the best in your transfer and beyond!

Thank you everyone for making my cramping feel normal..I am such a worrier and it has felt like ovulation, but hopefully it's just all the stuff going on down there. Great news today with my donor cycle day 3. Of the 17 that fertilized, 14 are looking good with one perfect grade 1, 8 cell, (nine) grade 2, 8 cell and a few others still looking okay...

Now I can breathe again..Transfer on Weds.
