Do I continue with Vivelle patches once I start Progesterone?

Do I continue with Vivelle patches once I start Progesterone?

So I can't find my instructions, and I asked for another copy but they didn't give one to me. They told me to stop Lupron and start Progesterone today, but didn't mention the Vivelle patches. I think that I stayed on them through ET before (which will be on Wednesday if all goes well), but just realized that I might be completely wrong!

Thanks,
Bear

THe vivelle is estrogen patches, so not even sure why you wouldn't continue them. I continued with all of the estrogen until after pg was established and only then started to wean. I was lining challenged, so I certainly didn't stop or decrease any before pg. The one thing that is an absolute must to stop is if you are doing vaginal viagra. That is usually stopped once starting progesterone.

Btw, here is an amazing tip for removing the residue of the patches. works far better than anything like baby oil or alcohol. It is MaryKay eye makeup remover. I learned this trick by accident once when travelling and that was all I had. It worked GREAT. I rubbed it on the residue, let it sit for a minute, and then wiped it off w/a cotton ball also soaked w/ the eye makeup remover. It came right off. I later tried other eye makeup removers, and that was the only one that worked like that. One bottle will last more than forever. I even gave some bottles to friends that were on the patch, and they also loved how it worked.

Good luck with your cycle. Of course, if possible, check with your doctor to confirm your protocol, but I wouldn't take off the patch until you've confirmed it.

Estrogen is vital for well into your cycle (preg till 10+ wks). I would definitely stay on it unless you're told otherwise....and then I'd question them as to why they want you to go off.

I didn't use patches, but they've been keeping me on a constant dose of estrace. I would call your RE's office asap and have them give you all of the instructions again!

In the clear light of day, now I realize that my late-night panic makes no sense, thanks to your help.

Thank you so much for answering such a silly question, keifel. I remember now that you stay on the E2 forever.

How are you doing, oh queen of the 2ww?

Oh, those evil, evil sticks! In Nov 09, I had at least 3 blank poas, and so I went off my progesterone cream, and found out 3 days later that my much delayed beta was 92. Just saying, those sticks can be very wrong and I also wonder what would have happened if I hadn't gone off progesterone support.

Hang in there keifel!
