Below are two pages from the never released Marvel Comics 'Logan's Run - Issue #9 (pages 4 and 5).

These were drawn by Marvel artist Tom Sutton and were part of the continuing story line of Logan's life outside the Domes that were abruptly cancelled after Marvel failed to extend 'Logan's Run' licensing rights with MGM.

After viewing these two pages, do you have any idea as to what they may be saying and where the story was heading??

Post your thoughts below - as many Logan fans were very upset to see the Marvel LR comics cancelled. I wonder where they were going with the story.....

Hmmm. . .the masked figure brings to mind Francis' dream-scene alter ego (in Jessica's dream) from the TV series!

Nice angle on Jessica's left gam.

But -- whose name is on the headstone?

Great find, Logan! How on Earth did you get this?

One was posted at a Comic Art site -

The other was a reprint that appeared in the magazine 'BackIssue' that covers old comic books. This particular issue had a GREAT write up of ALL the Logan comics - up through and including the Malibu issues.

I'm thinking the first one is a 'dream-sequence' backstory that Logan is remembering or dreaming of. The symbolic use of the Carrousel person in the dream is like Death coming to aid the living - used as a warning and helper to try and save them from meeting their own fate (sorta like Jacob Marley and Scrooge).

The second one I think is a current scene of a new?? Sandman inspecting outside the Domes. Upon his search, he catches a burst of light reflected off the Domes. He searches and discovers a metallic or glass obelisk up on a hill and..... then I'm stumped. :(

I'm also puzzled as to why the first is shown as page 4 of Issue 9 and the second is shown as page 5 of Issue 9. If these are indeed in their correct order, the pages/panels don't seem to flow well. :help:

I like how the last page (with the Sandman on the beach looking in amazement at the shiny metallic/glass object in the distance) is remenescent of another of my all-time classic films of the genre -- Planet of the Apes!

I can just picture the Sandman on the next page saying:

"Damn You! Damn you all to hell!"

Seeing issue 9 this far along in development makes me wonder if issue 8 was practically complete (i.e. artwork already inked with dialogue). I hope some more of these pages surface...soon!
