It looks like my longstanding wish is coming true according to an article in the local newspaper. After they build a new hospital out west on Veteran's Memorial Drive, they say the hospital and associated buildings on 12th Street will be torn down and grass planted to benefit the neighborhood. Good riddance! That's the best news I've heard in 10 years, but I won't be able to believe it til it actually happens.

I drove by the other day and the demolition is complete. There are no more buildings or structures standing above ground. Only some tall piles of rubble/gravel/dirt/sand.

The frequency of helicopter noise seems less now, in general, although not gone completely.
