My grandmother came from Birstonas. We had a photo of a church and the only lettering visible was an "St AN". I'm going out on a limb here and assuming it is the St Anthony Church in Birstonas. Does anyone know if they kept lists of parishoners in the early 1900's? If so, is it possible to obtain information such as did this person belong to that parish? Thanks for any help!

There are certain Lithuanian Church Books on Line at www.epaveldas.lt. However, they are in Lithuanian or Russian.

Thanks for the reference. I may try to look thru it just to see if the church shows up. Even more confusing, today we found my parent's wedding certificate-yet a 4th spelling of my father's name but I'm thinking it's the most traditional spelling and yet another spelling of his mother's maiden name!
