The Never Ending, Truly Eccentric Saga of Ronald D. Moore and SyFy Chanel.....
It's a partnership that has been one of the true eccentric oddities of American business life. Noted for one endless business failure after another via truly deranged and eccentric interpretations of the "Battlestar Galactica" copyright, the relationship between Ronald D. Moore and SyFy Channel thrives not because of any business focused accomplishments, but simply because they are friends with each other.
While friendships in the business world are not unusual and eccentric by any means, what has made the Ronald D. Moore / SyFy Channel partnership eccentric all along however, is the lack of business success within this partnership, thus making it (from any defined parameter within the business world) thoroughly unnecessary that they continue associating with each other. It's a partnership (by Corporate American standards for making money) that should have ended long before "GINO" was cancelled, simply because "GINO" failed to make money for the SyFy Channel. It's a partnership that should be ending now because "Caprica" has not made any money for the SyFy Channel. And it's a partnership that shouldn't be allowed to last long enough to make it to this partnerships "last gasp for air" via the totally boring "Webisode" project with each episode being 10 minutes long.
What has been the fuel all along for the Ronald D. Moore / SyFy Channel partnership is their decision at some point to do everything that they do out of spite for the general public, and their mutual hatred for the "1978 Battlestar Galactica" series. In short, Ronald D. Moore and SyFy Channel executives are undiagnosed "Bi-Polars", and they are also the sorts of people where the pleasure centers of their brains are activated when they knowingly make crappy business decisions with the "Battlestar Galactica" copyright. This makes the lot of them "Psychotic"....in addition to being "Bi-Polar."
Mutual interests in a morose line of thinking in itself shouldn't have been enough to hold the Ronald D. Moore / SyFy Channel partnership (or any partnership) together, yet it has happened and the reason why I think it has happened is that when a "Psychotic" group of people are determined enough to accomplish something against the laws of "Supply & Demand" in the business world...in the midst of their own..... joint lack of talents as broadcasters, producers, writers etc.....They can do it. In the case of Ronald D. Moore and SyFy Channel, they were determined to stay together in the midst of their historical trail of two failed television series ("GINO", "Caprica") and yet another flop of theirs apparently on the way to the discount DVD bin at Wal-Mart.....the "10 minute Webisodes."
Ronald D. Moore and SyFy Channel stay together simply because they are not "An American Success Story" by any stretch of the imagination.....and that they like to "shoot the shit" with each other and waste the shareholder's dollars of the SyFy Channel on these stupid ass ideas they keep coming up with which thus far.....have failed to take the "Battlestar Galactica" property into any new and exciting directions. Misery loves company and so does failure. The latter cemented the Ronald D. Moore / SyFy Channel partnership in stone.....at least until someone within the NBC-Universal corporation decides to wake the hell up and pull the plug on this partnership once and for all. This partnership could never make it as "mainsteam success story", and it has recently proved that it can't even make it as a "niche success story." Moore and SyFy Channel exist by themselves, for themselves. They throw crap out into the market much the same way an "E-Bay Power Seller" does. And when their crap fails and is sent to the "Unsold E-Bay Bin".....Moore and SyFy Channel put more of their crap up for sale.
The Ronald D. Moore / SyFy Channel partnership (if you want to be civil and call it that).....has yet to make one dime for the entire NBC-Universal corporation. This partnership spends alot of time behind closed doors.....cooking up alot of shit and incoherent nonsense for the "Battlestar Galactica" property.....but the only thing this partnership has ultimately accomplished is proving to the "Corporate American Business World" that personal friendships between an untalented, retarded, idiotic hack (Ronald D. Moore) and a brain dead backwater, basic cable network (SyFy Channel) devoid of any legitimate, artistic talent between the two of them will yield unprecedented crap such as "GINO" and "Caprica." If Ronald D. Moore and SyFy Channel ever emerged from behind closed doors with a legitimate money making venture instead of some "Sawed Off Piece of Crap" with the Galactica logo slapped on it, maybe then they might develop legitimate careers for themselves instead of depending upon an antiquated.....8 year old stealth marketing campaign designed to attack anyone on-line who astutely notices what a bunch of "No Talent Hacks" they always have been. And the reason for the existence of this 8 year old stealth marketing campaign, is that Ronald D. Moore and SyFy Channel have no talent....period. They could no more legitimately entertain a mass market or basic cable television audience with talent and inspired ideas than they could go skydiving without parachutes. And it's interesting to note that just about everyone else in this business.....whether it be Seth MacFarlane or Stephen J. Cannell....have been able to build legitimate brand name empires for themselves within a short period of time via genuine talent whereas Ronald D. Moore continues to "Putz" and "Fart Along" trying to build something.....anything for himself.....with his endless merry-go-round of truly stupid ass ideas he tries to make work within the framework of the "Battlestar Galactica" brand name.languatron
