The day was bright and his spirits were high, feet languidly stretched out before him, head tilted back to get the full spread of the sun on his face. On the edge of the training ground, he sat easily in an all-weather chair surrounded by a few other knights – some wanting a brief respite from training, others a snatch of conversation. It was strange how suddenly people had craved gossip after the void of the curse; any scrap of something to talk about – the more trivial, the better because you could be light hearted with that kind of talk. People wanted to smile and whisper, just like they had before.

A serving boy approached them; something cold and sweet to drink, but Aidan was not particularly thirsty and when he was he preferred to reach for his water skin anyway. He remained lifelessly still, head still knocked heavenwards. Felicia had recovered well from her winter ailment and summer was doing bounds of good for her health. Her skin was even catching some of the sun these days, giving her a healthy tanned glow. Behind his closed eyes he could see her face and his lips ghosted a smile to greet her.

He had about an hour to kill before the next training session. The recruiting season had lulled for a time before summer but it would fire up again soon and they would be bombarded with yet another batch of fresh faces that couldn’t tell a long sword from a sabre. For now, though, the recruits had come on leaps and bounds. There had been some casualties over the course of their initiation here, but most of the had survived to tell the tell. For a little while longer he could enjoy not having to remind them which way around to saddle a horse.

With some reluctance, he drew his head back up straight, eyes blinking as they adjusted to the new light setting. He scanned the training ground half-heartedly, trying to pick out a distraction that might amuse him for the window of time he had.

It was a bright and beautiful day here in Camelot and after an early morning ride on Brice through the country Kadeligh had returned to her brother's home and had set about preparing lunch. He would have been training all morning and would most likely be training again in the afternoon and knowing how hungry her brother got he would be in need of some food. Grabbing some bread and butter she cut into the bread and added in the butter, grabbing some lettuce and meat she put it into a spare blanket and tied it into a neat square; containing the content in nicely.

Dismissing her guard who seemed insistent on accompanying her to the training grounds; despite how unnecessary it was for such a short distance. Her guard had become rather overprotective of her recently; no doubt due to the orders of her father who had become increasingly more concerned for her since the not so recent events of the ghosts and her recent mugging. Being a person who used magic [which was of course forbidden] he had always been a little worried for her. They both knew she would never use it to hurt anyone, and that she wasn't stupid enough to use it in Camelot or anywhere she could be seen, but that didn't make her situation any less dangerous. Her brother had always protected her, despite his alliance to the king and she knew what a difficult position that put him in. Which was why she did whatever she could to pay him back and take care of him, because frankly without her he was useless.

Arriving at the training grounds she found she had come just in time for the knights break and saw her brother playfully wrestling with one of the other knights. Smiling to herself she decided to wait until his little 'play session' was over and instead went to go join a familiar face who seemed to be enjoying the good weather as much as her. "Sir Aidan, How does one fair on this fine day?"
