I have an official International League baseball signed by 16 players on the 1948 Montreal Royals.

Duke Snider, Don Newcombe, Chuck Connors, Walt Nothe, Jack Banta, Frank Laga, Bob Morgan, Sam Jethroe, Jimmy Bloodworth, Al Gionfriddo, Mike Sandlock, Oscar Grimes, Bud Podbielan, Johnny Simmons, Cliff Dapper and Lou Welaj.

It's been sitting in a case and the ball is in very good shape and all the signatures are clear and legible.

Any idea on what this ball may be worth.

Thanks

Hello Wayne,

Value is based on past auctions and sales. Without having access to the sales history for a 1948 Montreal Royals, I could only estimate the value from a single Heritage auction that I found, also with 16 signatures. Following Link:https://sports.ha.com/itm/baseball/1948 ... ail-071515

The ball sold for $776.75. Value will vary based on the condition of the baseball, grade of the signatures, placement of the signatures and overall display (eye appeal) Prices may also vary based on the amount of signatures, and key signatures acquired. The more complete the baseball with key signatures the more valuable.

The 16 signatures on your ball seem to be more significant that the signatures listed in the auction and should have a slightly higher value if the grade of the signatures are alike. The key signatures on your ball Duke Snider, Don Newcombe, Chuck Connors, and the key signatures on the ball in the auction (that they list) Walt Alston, Tommy Lasorda.

The type of authenticity that accompanies the baseball will also effect the value. Signatures that are not pproperly authenticated could sell at half the market value or less. -Steven
