I have 3 vintage baseball bats that I inherited and I wonder if anyone can tell me how much they are worth?...
1) A.J. Reach HUGGINS Model; approx. 31", (base stamped with "NOTICE BATS ARE NOT GUARANTEED"); very good condition
2) Pontiac Turning Co. (Indian logo), NAPANOCH, NY; approx. 34" (base printed with "9"); good condition
3) AIR SEASONED NO. SUPERIOR POE SELECTED STOCK, approx. 30"; fair condition
In general the Pontiac Turning Co. baseball bats have an estimated value of about $300.-$400. Very Good - Excellent Condition. You could find more information on the website at the following link.>http://keymancollectibles.com/bats/pont ... allbat.htm
The Pontiac company went on to became auto makers as a GM division by the early 1930s. The wood turning company was sold off to Hillerich & Bradsby, Louisville Slugger in 1912. H&B continued to make the bats under the Pontiac brand name until 1915.
I would need to see the other two bats to help you with value. I am very interested in seeing the "NOTICE BATS ARE NOT GUARANTEED" stamping on the knob of the A.J. Reach bat. You could send pictures of all three bats to my email email@example.com. I would need to know the model no. or age to find it in a catalog. You could also post to facebook if you have an account.
