My grandparents were season ticket holders for the Oakland A's for 20 years back in the late 60s to late 80s. My grandmother caught a foul ball at a game back in the early 70s and had it signed by one of the team members after the came. I posted an image here
I've had this ball for 25 years since she died and I know nothing more about the story. Does anyone know who signed this ball? I don't know if its a player or a coach, all i know is they would have been on the Oakland A's team back in the early/mid 70's.
The ball was signed by Jesus Alou but the ball is a 1970-1976 Charles Feeney Official National League baseball. Your grandparents must have attended a Giants or Padres game. Jesus Alou played for both the A's('73-'74) & Giants('63-'68) but because the ball was made '70-'76, it must have been signed when he played for the Houston Astros in '72,&'73, either when the Astros were playing the Giants in San Fransisco or the San Diego Padres. -Steven KeyMan
