We have a 1940 Cincinatti Reds team signed baseball and we are unsure what to do with it. We have confirmed that it is the 1940 Cincinatti Reds and are going to have PSA authenticate it but do not know how to go about selling it.

Hello Larry,

A 1940 Cincinnati Reds team signed baseball with the key signatures: Lombardi, McKechnie, and F. McCormick has an estimated value of about $500.-$900.

Value is based on average prices of recently closed auctions. Prices may vary based on condition of the baseball, grade of the signatures, and the type of authenticity that accompanies the baseball. Prices may also vary based on the amount of signatures, and key signatures acquired. The more complete the baseball with key signatures the more valuable.

If you want to sell the ball contact an auction house that specializes in sports memorabilia such as Heritage Auctions (ha.com)They will also give you a more accurate estimate on value based on the actual condition and grade of the signatures. They will also advise you whether to send it to PSA first or send it directly to them. -Steven Keyman
