I'm having trouble with my TR3 Gear Box.  The car was running fine yesterday.  This morning I pushed the clutch and then started it up.  When I released the clutch the gears appeared to to stuck in a forward gear.  It appears that the center selector shaft for the 3rd and 4th gear is locked up.  I can move the gear shift lever to right, to move the  reverse gear selector shaft, but the gears don't change.  Does anyone have an idea as to what is going on?  I'm also checking the clutch slave cylinder to see if these is enough travel.

One possibility is that the selector cup under the gearshift lever has pulled away from the 3-4 shift shaft.  Although they are shown as a single part in the book, the cup is actually a separate piece held to the rail by a small pin.  If the pin shears, it can leave the shaft in 4th gear position even after the lever is moved to neutral.

Could be other things too, but that's the first place I would look.

Clutch problems would not explain it being in gear with the lever in the neutral position.  I've driven home more than once without a clutch.
