This is a drabble series about my River Ridge dream couple Brad and Kimberly (who I have nicknamed "BRIM")! I really hope they happen lol I am writing things the way I wish they could happen so its slightly AU! This is rated PG-13 for language.

Here's the first one. I really hope it's alright!

Part 1: Avery

“He keeps asking who his father is,” Sharon said. “Don’t you think it’s time you tell him the truth?”

Kimberly was sitting on the porch, holding a glass of ice cold ice tea, when Sharon asked a question that rocked her. Lately her world had been nothing but chaotic but thinking of the man who gave her Avery … It stopped her heart.

She turned around and glared at Sharon. “No, I don’t think I should tell him who his father is!” Kimberly snapped. “His father has no clue about him … Why rock the boat?”

“I don’t know, Kimberly. Maybe because it’s the right thing to do!” Sharon returned in a haughty, indignant voice. A perpetually frustrated voice she seemed to reserve just for Kimberly. Well, Kimberly could return that attitude and she would because she was tired of her damn sister looking down on her all the time.

“You know what, sister dear?” Kimberly snapped. “The right thing would have been to let me tell Avery the truth, in my own time, in my own way, but oh no! You had to have the limelight. You just couldn’t resist being the one to tell him – or resist the chance to play the part of martyr as you always do.”

Sharon’s turquoise eyes heated with new venom. “You know what, Kimberly? If you don’t like the way I do things, you can get off my fucking porch right now.” She then coldly ripped the glass from Kimberly’s hand and marched inside, slamming the door after her.

Kimberly shook her head. She felt tears burning the back of her eyes but willed herself not to give into them. She was not going to let Sharon have that power over her. It was bad enough that everyone hated her, including her son, but crying over it would just make her look as weak and pathetic as she usually felt she was.

She climbed off the porch steps, grabbed her purse, and started down the street on foot. She had no idea where she was going but she needed to clear her head and just be for a while. There had to be someplace in this old town where she could turn for peace ...
