I've noticed over the last day or so that when notified by email of a reply to a thread that you have replied/contributed to when you click on view the message that you are now being taken to the beginning of the thread rather than to the reply. Is this the new "normal" rather than being taken to the reply that triggered the email notification? Previously, if I clicked on view message it would take me to the message that triggered the notification. It does not appear that it works that way now.

I am going to merge this in with the desktop Q&A...

I never use that feature through email, so I am not sure how it was before or what has changed. If I click on one of the notifications under the little "alarm bell" icon up to the top right, it takes me right to the correct page though.

Seems annoying though.

You could try posting a message to the Tapatalk support group to see if anyone knows about this...

I wrote a message asking about why replies don't seem focused anymore and rumenvalev replied that he could not understand what I wrote. He sent me a PM and however tapatalk has it set up I could not find a way to reply.

I asked why when you get an email notification for a board topic when you follow the link it brings you to the first message in the topic rather than to the message that triggered the email notification.

When you have replied to a message in a thread instead of bringing you to the message that was referred it brings you to the beginning of the conversation. This is a new development and I'm asking if this is the "new" default or if there's something that's not right with the board.

OK, let me see if I understand. There seem to be a few things you are wondering about:

1. Replies don't seem focused. I have to admit, I don't understand what you mean about that either.
--> Please explain and I'll see what I can come up with.

2. You can't access your PMs.
--> There is a new How-to for PMs here.

3. Links from email notifications take you to the first post of the topic instead of the reply that triggered the notification
--> I agree that seems strange. I have no idea why this is so. I have posted this question to the Tapatalk support forum. Hopefully someone knows the answer.

4. After you create a reply, you are returned to the first page in the topic.
--> This does not happen to me. When I make a reply, it takes me to the last post in the topic, i.e. the reply that I made. Maybe I don't understand the issue...?

It's been a couple of weeks now and there's still a problem with email notifications to threads. I do not know if this is a problem related to the notification that someone has replied to a topic/thread but it's very frustrating.

I will get a notification that someone has replied to a topic in a thread that I've contributed to. Most message boards such as the yuku board that we've transitioned to will bring you to the message that triggered the email notification. The way tapatalk has been behaving for at least a couple of weeks it will bring you to the top of the thread so you have to scroll through every message to (try) to find what was responded to. I believe something is broken in the way tapatalk is handling email notification of thread input.

Am I the only person this bothers?

If it makes any difference I access the board through a computer and not through a phone.

I have been in contact with tapatalk support about this. And I also tested it out today. I can see how this is annoying if you use that feature a lot. I don't use the site that way so I never really think about it. Hopefully they'll figure something out soon!!

Since this is a desktop issue, I am going to merge this into the Desktop thread. If you click on the link in the post I made in response to your post on September 19th, you can follow along. Or post your concerns there too...

I'm hoping I can be of some help here. At first when we moved to the Tapatalk interface I got millions of notifications in everything I posted in. I figured out how to turn that off as I was getting emails left right and centre. Super annoying I realise, especially if you comment a lot.

So just a couple of steps to fix this (hopefully).

1) You go on your profile on the top right once you've signed in, and then go on edit profile under your avatar as shown.

edit profile.PNG 2) You proceed to click on board preferences tab and then the edit notifications options. You can then turn off the email notifications by unticking them. It takes a few minutes to work, for me it was up to an hour and then emails should stop coming through. Makes it much more manageable to deal with notifications.

I have no idea if this will help anyone, but I figured I should share regardless. I found that notifications are much better when accessed from the desktop notification centre as opposed to the email notifications. I just gave up on it, as well as the annoyance of constant emails.

All the best

Thanks for this Rumen. I am sure it is something that bothers others as well. I will turn your post into one of our How-tos when I get the chance :)

I guess part of the tapatalk thing is just getting used to how it works as compared to the yuku board. I don't know if I just noticed it or not, but when I get a notice by email that there's been additional input on a thread that if when you go to the referenced email by clicking on the link it takes you to the message, but just above it is a link that says "read newest update." I complained earlier that you could not do that. I'm just assuming that it's one of the "different" ways that tapatalk boards work. At any rate now that I've found it I won't be complaining about it ;)

Is the new tapatalk not available for RSS readers? Are the post counts zeroed out on tapatalk or is everyone now the same as everyone else? This interface seems very "bare bones" to me. It does not appear that you are able to format your replies. So far I am not impressed. Seems like a step backwards to migrate to tapatalk. I thought if you were a subscriber you would not see ads. Apparently not.
This is a reply to a query I made earlier.

If you get a reply to a thread to which you made a comment you will get an email notification. Clicking on the link "read" will take you to the top of the thread. When you go to the referring link you'll get:
