Help us improve this library forum by giving a suggestion you have for a new topic. This may be an idea you have for a topic or you may see a thread on a topic that you think is worthy for the library.

Many of the topics in the library started with threads that took root in other forums.  After gaining some momentum elsewhere, it could qualify to be a topic of general interest and then moved to the library.  If the topic is the type that will have ongoing posts, then we may take extracts from it but leave a link to the thread in order to get more posts.

Use the Add Reply for each new topic and either explain your topic or give a link to the suggested existing topic. Thank you for helping us make this forum better serve your needs.

Another thing that could be interesting ( at least to me ) is "how to decide what style looks better /works better on your face" I think that could help people who cannot decide or who would not look to great with the wrong style.
(Just my 2 cents )

Thanks for the 2 cents, Ray.  In looking at beard styles, I came across several sources that mentioned shapes of faces that go with different beard styles. This could be a topic worthwhile to others as well, so I'll look into it... I just hope I don't find out that the beard style I chose for myself doesn't fit my face shape.

BTW, I moved your post from Impressions to this thread... hope you don't mind to be the first.

Happy to hear that my idea has some sense!
( I too fear that the beard I am chasing will not look good with my face and baldness but if I try I will never know)

Your request makes a lot of sense in theory, Ray, however I find that there is no scientific formula to define what looks best for a given face or beard. There are just too many outside factors and what looks good is just way too subjective. Such factors include how the beard grows on the face, beard texture (e.g. curly or straight), beard color, age, etc. For example, trying to say that all "round" faces should have a goatee to lengthen them (which I have seen recommended on some of these know-it-all sites) is just not applicable to every guy.
Patience shall be rewarded!

I just put together a thread on taming the moustache. It might be good to have here. It's currently in the moustache thread

You could create a topic about skin care, not sure if you can find that topic on this forum

Natural ways like using orange juice (drinking) or using some pills and stuff to make skin healthy and make sure that acne dont show up.

How about top recommended products for managing your beard? I know a lot of guys on here recommend products and review them, but a top rated list would be easier to find rather than having to read endless pages of reviews. Maybe provide links to sites where products can be purchased. Even better would be an offer if this site promotes products that those product manufacturers would offer members a discount?

There are certainly a handful of products that seem to be more popular than others... I'll see if I can pull a short list of these out.  I really hate to poll this because these polls depend so much on who responds to the poll and for that reason they are really not very scientific .  I do like the idea of where to buy products and the thought had occurred to me that this really needs to be international because some products readily available in US are not so available in Europe.

Good suggestions and I'll see what I can come up with.

Thank you.  It looks like a good thread for the library... I'm going to watch it for a while and then see if I can extract the essence.

I'm not sure that we want to get away from beard topics in the library but I can understand the importance of this topic to teens.  Sounds like a good topic for Misc Stuff

I find most of the products worth purchasing are US based. There is not a lot of availability here in Australia sadly.

We'll not all of us a blessed with perfect beard growing genes, so I was thinking maybe a topic on tips and tricks for growing a beard, like how to deal with weak spot, for example my sideburn area is weak so I let the head hair grow down further to help link the beard together with my head hair, I am sure there are many more examples, and even more solutions to help those who think they cannot grow a beard because of some small problem area.

What about a topic for carving a cheekline? And different options for cheeklines (straight, curved, horizontal, diagonal, for chinstraps, etc), and useful tips that can come in handy for carving the cheekline, minimising room for mistakes, getting the best results, available products to assist as necessary, etc.
