My family is Danish, and had great beards....Most are gone now.  My wife's family are all Germans.......Hardly any beards.  So, I know what you mean about the heritage with less beard growth.  My son got more genetics from my wife's side, and his beard is reddish blond, and not so strong.

You don't have poor beard growth.  From your photos, I can tell the Irish genetics.  In photos, the reddish, nor mix of colors doesn't come through as much.  But your growth is anything  but poor.

Here’s some pics in a different light, lower lit rooms seems to give my beard a darker and fuller look which makes me feel good.

Thanks Dylan much appreciated! All has been well, been putting up t-posts and barbed wire for some cattle and horses I’m buying soon. It’s been a lot of hard work but fun. I think things are coming along good. I have a feeling my beard will continue to mature so I’m not too worried about the imperfections right now.

That's a lot of length to have achieved in only 15 weeks.

The great thing about growing an untrimmed yeard is that there's really no questioning about whether to trim.  Seems like you're at a bit of an awkward length with the curls on the chin - that should work itself out in the coming weeks.  You could use a blow dryer to help to tame them - or just embrace it.

Thanks gato I appreciate the kind comment! My chin is indeed pretty strong but it’s so strong that it makes my cheeks and jawline look terribly weak. The curls do aggravate me but since I’m a man and it’s part of what we grow through as a natural process, I’ll leave it alone and embrace it! I do feel that I’m at an awkward length. But I’m optimistic in that I know in the coming weeks the awkwardness will subside.

Well today is an important day to me because I have ultimately seen some improvements on my cheeks! It seems that they’re finally starting to fill in and look denser as my beard length gets longer! I appreciate all the motivation and kind words to get me here! It’s not my update day but I just wanted to let all the guys know that I’m so very happy with growing my beard untouched because it get better and better everyday. My confidence has improved tremendously! Life is just good right now. Much love from Alabama,
Shannon

Thanks MplsGuy I appreciate it! One thing I’ve learned through my experience so far is that my confidence is better with my beard versus without it. Tom thanks for stopping in, it ‘‘twas one of my good beard days indeed! I’m happy to say I’m having them more and more often now. Well to be quite frank I’m having good beard days everyday now, I’m super excited and optimistic about future progress. Thanks again tom!
