Sorry for he late responses guys. Thank you rumen always so kind! I am indeed enjoying the growth this time around because I know more of what to expect and how to take the changes! Very optimistic I have been truly busy but the start of the new year my schedule will lighten up some and be able to contribute to the board more! And thanks tom I like it in both places as well. Hope all is well with everyone!

Thanks tom! I think it is! There are tons of lighter colored hairs underneath. I believe my beard will one day be as dense as I hope for! I have a lot of shorter hairs underneath that will come in to help density within the next 5 weeks I assume. I feel great this time around. And as always tom thanks for stopping by and helping me push on!

Looking great Shannon, keep up with the good work! It sure looks like it's coming in faster, or maybe the added confidence is making you see it for what it is, a nice beard filling in. Enjoy the journey and keep us updated.

All the best to you and the family over the busy come up to the holidays.

Another great update.  All 4 photos show your beard coming in.  I am worried about your eyes in the first two.  hahahahah.  I hope you are doing well, and things are good with you.
Grow on.

Dylan thanks man they’re coming in better this growth cycle. Hopefully over the next few years they’ll be a lot fuller than they are now! And yes sir the family is doing great. Me and my wife and son went to a Christmas tree farm, I let them pick the tree out and I cut it down. We’ve been decorating these passes two days. And thanks tom I appreciate it, it seems like it’s coming in better for sure. But then again I could just be imagining things. And yeah the light was irritating my eyes! And sorry for the late reply gato and rumen but thank you for your recent comments! It’s definitely some new found confidence, but it seems like my weak side is filling in more this time.

Thanks man, I’ve only been growing for 8 weeks though. I recently grew out to about 13 weeks. I trimmed 3 times in those 13 weeks. then I trimmed a couple times in between then and 16 weeks. So it wasn’t a true 16 week beard I grew. I’m going for a yeard and shoulder length hair. Hopefully it will look good! Thanks for stopping by!

I probably mentioned this before, but it's pretty common for a beard to grow in better the second time - even though that really makes no sense to me.  Many guys report having the same experience.

Great update Shannon, it's coming in nicely. Your hair is also coming along great, you'll turn around one day and have long hair. I let it go and here I am, 8 months later and I've only just realised how different I look. You're for sure going to look great, there's no question (don't doubt yourself). You already have an amazing look, enjoy the journey getting to your goal.

Here I'm willing to disagree with you Geoff. I think it's a perception thing. I'll attribute some cases to be an actual improvement in the beard growth. However, I feel people are just more comfortable the second time round. They know their capabilities so they feel more confident. I found that I'm more comfortable every time I let it grow out since I know what it'll look like. I think when we reach new levels the process is repeated, such as growing beyond what we have now. Since we have the experience behind us, we learn to enjoy the journey. We find out more things about ourselves in the process as we notice things we haven't before. It's normally a much more enjoyable experience, therefore the positive attitude seems to translate into a perceived improvement. I simply think it's the difference in attitude going into it.
The first time, we're not quite sure, scared of the unknown, very critical of how we look. When we learn about our strengths and weakness, through the experience we are more realistic the second time around. When we accept our beards the way they are, we unconsciously learn to go with the flow and enjoy the journey more so. Sorry for the ramblings, I felt like sharing my thoughts on the matter, I hope it made sense.

Keep growing, and enjoy the process. All the best
Rumen

I agree that it can partly be a perception thing, but I have seen photo evidence time after time from guys whose growth was shockingly different the second time around - and this difference was only separated by a few months - sometimes at ages where a few months really would make little difference (like in the late 30s/early 40s).

One thing that I have thought is that after years of shaving, some of the follicles might be somehow less active/damaged and that over the first beard, these follicles have a chance to heal.  If the grower shaves once or twice and then starts growing again, this healing period wouldn't need to take place the second time around.

I think it’s part perception, part real improvements. One thing I know is this. I never had a soul patch and I never had much of a mustache or cheek growth before trying to grow my first beard. I have this idea that after you allow your facial hair to come in without shaving for a long period of time it kind of kickstarts the beard hair growing engine and more and more hairs start popping up and the density changes over time. I’ve seen pictures where guys had absolutely no soul patch or any hair under their bottom lip, and once they grew a yeard or two they shaved. After that initial shave their soul patches and growth under their lips came in with the rest of their beard the next beard growth cycle. Different color sometimes, sometimes the same color as the rest of their beard. I think this theory is true that if a person grows a beard time and time again for long periods of time your density will improve, maybe not drastically but it will definitely improve if your taking care of your health and diet and providing a formidable environment for hair growth and beard growth. Just some crazy ramblings but maybe there is some truth in it.
All in the name for beard.

I realize it’s not my update day but I thought I was having a good beard day. Haven’t really combed brushed or did anything with it for the passed 8 and a half weeks just let it grow untouched. I’m loving how much better I feel about my beard this time. I feel like it’s a little more dense in areas it was not the first time around and I’m hoping given time it will develop further into what I’m hoping for. Much love from Alabama

Hey Alabama!
It is looking great.  Thanks for the random good day, and for your nice comment on my thread.  Your beard was great last time, but given this time that you are being natural, you prove that we cannot improve perfection by trying to mess with it.  Your beard is looking great.  It just gives you a happy contented appearance.
Grow on, sir.

Looking really great Shannon, it's coming along nicely! You really are enjoying this journey and you should be encouraged as you'll see many improvements in the next few months I look forward to seeing it all, it's going to be fun.

Enjoy the days where you have good beard days, they are always a pleasure to ride out. I've been having more of those lately with the increased length, I'm sure you will also continue to see improvements and it will bring you more excitement! Grow on, and keep sharing your journey. Enjoy the holidays, best to you and the family.
