This is after just over a month, should I give up now because my cheek coverage is weak?

No way, don't give up. You got a strong mustache and great lower beard. Give it more time the cheeks will fill. Maybe not super full but the amount of beard you will be getting from the stash and lower beard will compensate the lack of cheek beard. You are doing great for a mouth of growth. Sometimes it takes up to 3 to 6 mouths for your beard to start showing it's potential.

One month is too soon to give up.  In another two months your cheeks should show improvement.  They may not go as high as you want, but it looks like you will have enough coverage for a Ryker style.

Is there any hope my cheeks will grow in?

Upper cheeks are the slowest to grow, and most of the time the latest to get in the game.  No guarantees, only time will tell.

I’m growing my beard out for the first time. It’s really inspirational to look at some of your journeys, and it gives me hope, considering I have a patchy beard.

I’m currently 6 weeks in growing, and will at least go for 3 months before doing any trimming.

I’m concerned my sides won’t fill in the way I won’t to, but I’ll give it some time and see.

If any of you have any tips or tricks, I’m more than happy to receive them.

The best trick for cheeks is no trimming and give them time.

Since I made it to 14 weeks I figured I would go ahead and post my progress here. The first three photos are at 4 weeks, the last three are at 14 weeks. I still have a ways to go before I get what I am working toward, but I never thought it would fill in this much. It's definitely worth the wait and I am happy with it.

Cool thread, some really good looking beards here! Adding my photos to contribute, unfortunately I don't have a "before" photo because I'm bearded for over 2 years now. By default, my beard is actually pretty weak.

- Low cheek coverage.
- Weak mustache.
- Weak soul patch.
- Mustache and soul patch do not connect with the beard, I'm unable to even connect with sheer length. Not once I have trimmed the soul patch over last 16 months, it is what it is.

Basically, I'm compensating all these shortcomings with beard length. First photo shows my jaw-line and actual coverage, second photo shows how it looks grown out.

Grow what you can and grow it with pride. :)

EDIT: Found a 3 year old photo, unfortunately with some stupid filter on it.

Hey Space Chamber, thanks for sharing. I too have a very similar growth pattern (or lack thereof). I have been growing now for just over 5 weeks and don't have much to show, but like you said am growing what I have with pride. I have set myself a goal of the end of the year, which will be around 4 months. Let's see what happens. I have never made it past 13 weeks.
