If that is just water that made the shine, if you used oil, it would make the color pop.  If you want to compare just how much your beard has grown, look at the difference in how your neck has filled in.  The front has already enveloped your neck.  I think it was a good choice to abandon the neckline.  If you didn't do the weekly update, that wouldn't have shown so well.

Gato. That’s true for sure. It’ll be long before I know it ;)

Tom. For sure. I use oil every day and it keeps things manageable for sure! Yeah I’m just going to let it go! Other then the 3 hairs that grows on my upper cheeks! Hahah. I’m definitively getting used to having a beard and don’t see cutting it anytime in the future

That's exactly how I felt growing my beard, and your words are music to my ears.  I know you like music.  You will love your whole beard and the bearded life.

10 weeks down and still going strong. I personally don’t see much of a difference. Other then I’ve been finding a few white hairs in there lately! Nothing that bothers me though. I plan on keeping this thing growing! Thanks guys

Oh, yes.  Put your photos next to each other from your last update.  Especially look at your mustache.  The middle had fiilled in to cover your upper lip.  You grow quickly, and thickly.  Your beard has not also dropped from your first photos, so your chin is longer looking.  Notice how the hairs on your neckline are also growing to have a nice shape towards your chin.   Dang!!!!!!  You have one of the best beards around.

The little grey hairs just make for dignity.  Think of yourself as dignified.

I think of you and your beard as awesome.  Keep up the good work.
Grow on.

Now that I look at the first photos I can definitely see a difference! Thanks a lot Tom, that means a lot coming from you! No plans on cutting my beard at all, no worries there! Thanks again man!

Nice update Shaun. Your beard is coming along great, it's extremely quick to grow. And those 'white hairs' look like they're actually light brown, maybe even blonde, but next to the darker hairs they look white. I get a similar thing around my chin on one side, it's a cool little contrast either way. Really thick and full beard, you're a natural. Keep growing and showing dude.

All the best

Thanks a lot rumen! It seems so slow to me but I see my first pics and definitely see the growth! Unfortunately they are white. I pulled one out and if they aren’t then they’re bleach white! Either way I accept it and I personally don’t mind at all! I do seem to be combing it more throughout the day though. Would a balm help with that? Thoughts?

I think when you look at your face everyday you get used to how you look so change is hard to spot. That's why photos can be really encouraging and useful as they show the real difference.

Ah that's fair enough, white or not, they add a cool colour contrast that'll make your beard unique. I like the ones I have in my chin too, they seem to be more on one side than the other, so hopefully the other side gets it too for uniformity.

Yeah I'd recommend a balm at this stage, your beard is long enough to benefit from it. Buy one with natural ingredients, do your research. Then incorporate it into your routine. I like to wash my face, then apply beard oil, and after beard balm. Getting a boar beard brush can help distribute it. Then you brush it in the direction you want it to go and it'll look neater and more tamed. Hope this helped. Ask anything else if you need to

Cheers

Thanks man, I do have a boar brush and use it every morning! I just find myself having to tame the beast too much throughout the day. Will a balm keep it in a certain shape? For at least most of the day?

I think it'll certainly help more than just a beard oil. It's worth a try, it's been working for me. Then again you have a thicker and more full beard... But I can't see why it wouldn't. Maybe something with a stronger hold, that still is natural. You're welcome

Just remember thicker isn’t better man. You have a killer beard. I really like your stache man, it really suits you. I’ll give a balm a try, my girlfriend works at a hair salon and got me a few sample packets to try out. I’ll give you my thoughts on them when I get to use them!

I just meant that your beard is thicker so using something with a stronger hold would be optimum. Thanks, I like my beard too. Of all the things I love about my own, the moustache is the last, it takes ages to grow out and the thickness is less than desirable. I'm going to hold on to that compliment, thanks a lot
Yeah let us know how you get on, I think it'll make a difference and make it more manageable. Nothing worse than having a beard that takes hours to maintain, in my opinion.

Best wishes

For sure, now it’s nowhere near hours to maintain but it’s a little more then I’d like personally. I’m sure a balm with help 🤞

11 weeks down guys! Not much has changed visually for me this week, but i have noticed that my facial hair has become a little more course as the length comes. I think I'll let it go atleast a couple more weeks until i decide on a trim or not. Thanks guys! Stay bearded !
