Hi Guys,
Been a while, oh my, deliver & pick up grandkids to & from school & the day has gone.

My power windows have suddenly stopped working.
Fuse is OK, jury wired the drivers door & the motor works ok, so it seems to be electrical fault of some kind?

I removed the drivers switch & tried the second (passengers) switch, no go. Removed & cleaned the lock switch, it seems fine?

Using the multi meter on the drivers cable connection (to the motor) shows 12v when the switch is activated (up & down)

I have a set of manuals, but there is little info on the 71 Mustang.

Advice Please.
Cheers
Brent

the pw safety relay is mounted at the rear of drivers side shock tower. check for power/operation there...jump..etc.

one side of the motor wire get 12v while the other wire gets ground. the switch just reverses the polarity, for up or down. since you show power, the relay i mentioned is working. check if you have a ground at one of the motor wires, while you have power on the other wire.

Thank you Rich, the relay seems at fault, than goodness.
I was able to work the windows by jumping the relay.

None in Australia even though the common part was a Fairlane, the model has just finished here.

I located one at MAC's. Now waiting patiently, I have just replaced the air con compressor, so that is helping with the ventilation.
Thanks again.
