First VC to go this year & more to follow during the year i expect. VC54 is sure to go anytime now after twenty two great years service to the company & has outlasted many 97 & 98 VC's so it shows how well it was maintained. Interesting to see if VC's 120, 123 & 138 transfer from the southeast up to the west this year as they could be required for the races up there in late July as i expect more VC's to be withdrawn up west by that time.

It's sad to see VC54 now withdrawn, the very last one from 1996 but it was coming for sometime given it's very old age & may have been on borrowed time anyway but it gave twenty two years of great service to the company no doubt of that. It outlasted many already withdrawn VC's from 1997 & 1998 which is a credit to the depot up in Galway which maintained it so well for many years. Hope to see it purchased for preservation before long.

Is VWD 38 after being allocated elsewhere?

I'd be surprised. If you go through Fred's photos you'll see VWD31 was photographed outside of Cork as well. Possibly they were going to Irish Commercials or else Broadstone for some sort of maintenance issue?

No it has not moved. All the VWD’s are going up to Louth Commercials at the moment to have the underbody sprayed. Usually one coming down meets one going up in Cashel and are swapped over.

SP12 has been withdrawn for a long time now.

LD231 seems to be withdrawn now, following her recent accident. Wasn't a lot of damage but I think they just won't fix it as it was probably due to be off service very soon. Although LD228 recently had a bit of a frontal tip and it was repaired, although not half the damage which 231 has.
