Now i thought that something should happen in this section of a forum as well... This thread will take years to finish, so be prepared for looooong and uneven battle ;) Model will represent Sisoy at the break between February and March 1897, for the significance of the time check internet, it's a long story ;) That's how it's going to look:

I've done some first pictures and the first cuts as well:

Have fun and try not to die of old age and boredom in this thread ;)

1897 is the year of the only Imperial Russia census and there was a deal signed with Astro-Hungarians. That's all I got. Nothing rings a bell. Enlighten us, please.

Good looking ship btw

Yes instead of goggeling Russia 1897 I goggeled the ship and this was in it ;

"The second exercise, held on March 15 1897 [O.S. March 3], ended in disaster when the rear turret exploded after an hour of target practice. The explosion blew the roof of the turret over the mainmast so that it struck the base of the foremast, crushing one 37 mm gun and a steam cutter. The explosion killed 16 men and wounded another 15; 6 of these later died of their wounds.[26] The badly damaged Sissoi Veliky headed to Toulon for repairs.[27]

That's it gentlemen, so the picture must have been taken between the exercises, Turrets are stained with dirt and smoke, but the aft one is still intact..

I think I've figured out why they had an explosion. Dinosaurs loose in the hull just seems dangerous, call me Mr. Health & Safety Gone Mad.

These paper models are cool .But Id say many make the mistake of rushing them and /or thinking they will be quick and easy .

I'll echo this and apologies if you've already done this elsewhere on the forum Michael... but some blow-by-blow technical details on how exactly you go about building paper models would be very useful as I, too, am curious
