Phaeton Class v2 Jumpship

Here is my effort for the Sci-Fi Group-build, and it is an odd one. It is a Phaeton jumpship from the video game Destiny. There isn't really all that backstory about them in the game, this is all the in-game and in-universe information about the ship.

Finding info about this kit is also fairy hard. I bought this at a convention over in the U.S. a couple of years ago from a crowd called Impact Props, but I think it was made by Z-Props. It seems to in 1/144, but it hard to tell because the ship never appears close enough to a player to scale it from.

The kit is fairly simple, there is the main fuselage, two big engines, and some rocket pods.

Never mind the black paint on the fuselage, it was a test to if paint would stick to it.

There were holes all over the engines and rocket pods, I have to clean them up. It looks to a definite filler job from here on

I used homemade sprue putty to fill the holes.

I have to replace two dividers in the engine pod front with plastic card, due air bubbles.

The engine pods are somewhat close to been done.

I used a lot of superglue, and I finished it off with some Mr. Surfacer.
The rocket pods are a different story, I left them alone while I was working with the engines.

Turns out there was a casting bubble on the attachment point on one of the pods. I used some plasticard to replace the lost material.

Very nice Mick. Looks like it will build into a nice model.

Thanks, Graham. It is definitely an odd one on the display table.

I forgot about this model for a while. I found it yesterday, and drilled the engine pods and main hull for brass rods. It also got a lick of paint.

The next stage is the proper paint job, which is yellow and red.
