Good one, Barry! And Ray is indeed your man on this - he had a 707 in Aer Lingus colours, which won the IPMS USA prize a few years back. A photo of it is the headline photo for the IPMS Ireland facebook group.

As per my previous posts, I'm planning on building a 1:48 Roden DH4 as a DH16. Actually I'm really looking forward to this one, even though I don't usually build civil models and I prefer 1:72. The time for the build and the scale should provide scope to do a high level of detailing, maybe even have the passenger cabin open.

Going to go from this

to

Mostly the same, fuselage will need extensive modification. Not many built but still some nice colourschemes.

There was athread on Britmodeller about this a couple of years back - might be of some help...

Or ask Joe Moran here on the forum as i'd say he has plenty of Sticks and Strings reference material and advice. :>

Is it within in the rules to build 2 models for a group build? Only I came across another civilian plane over the weekend that I just have to build, and seeing as it will be a scratch build I’ll probably start it before the DH 16.

My understanding has always been you can build as many as you like Marklo.

Brilliant, then I’m also going to build a 1913 deperdussin racer, scale tbd, either 1:48 or 1:32? just have to figure how big either one will be, probably the latter as it’s a pretty small plane.ill start a thread with some images when I get back to a working PC.
