Hi Guys,
This seems to be a lovely twin kit from Mark 1 models. As I have two kits I have decided to do a combined build of both kits. I will be building the Japanese one for the Captured GB!
The other kit will be built in the RAF Centenary GB!

I used Gerry Doyle's recently finished Buffalo in Finnish markings as an guide, thanks Gerry!

No you're not seeing double, just double jobbing on the kits.  Side walls painted and instrument painted.

Next to cut some seat belts for the seat but that's tomorrows work!
Cheers

Really lovely work Joe.  I don't know how the 1/144th doesn't drive you mad :) I'm starting to love my new scale of 1/48, which I'm finding is a nice trade off between detail levels and size (and my finemotor skills.eysight :) )

Brilliant stuff Joe!

Great idea to do a combo build for the two GBs.

Loving the progress, welcome aboard mate!

Hi Guys,.
Got a little done today but was side tracked for a lot of the time.
First of all the side tracking. Our plum tree produced a reasonable crop and this was the result.

I managed to get the seats installed and the belts, so nearly ready to join the fuselage halves together and then attach to the wing!

So far both kits, this one and the one for the RAF Centenary GB are exactly the same, well more or less.
Thanks for looking.
Cheers

Seeing as my jam making was finished I got another bit done today.
Initially I got both fuselage halves together and once dry I managed to get the tail feathers in place as well.
Tomorrow I'll try and get the engine and cowling in place and if time permits I'll go for the cockpits as well.
Thanks for looking guys.
Cheers

And not a single stick or string in place.

hi Guys,
Didn't get enough done yesterday to bother posting but caught up a bit today. The kits are beginning to get separated as painting time is getting near (I hope)!

Engines painted and installed.

Engine Cowling in-place. The cooling slots were supposed to be open but there was flash on both the upper and lower slots so I cleaned them up a bit.

The only way I can tell the difference between the two of them is by looking carefully at the seat belts (Tamiya tape) as they are slightly different.

Tomorrow I hope to get the upper and lower cockpit glazing in place. The upper cockpit fits grand but I had a bit of work to do to get the bottom to fit. At the moment they are not fixed in place as first I want to give them a bit of a clean, slap some future on them and let them dry over night.

Then the fun part will be masking off the cockpits above and below.

Hi Guys,
Its time to begin separating the twins! Not fully separated yet but getting there.
The yellow tipped propeller will be the British one as the Japanese one was all black.

Black Prop = Japanese.

Next to mask off the cockpit prior to painting.
Thanks for looking.
