They turned him down because of his association with Wally.

With his history of major back injuries and his link to his promoter/sexual predator step father he made the smart choice to stay a big fish in a small pond on the indies. Really why else do you turn down the biggest wrestling promotion on Earth??????? In the last few years theres been lots of guys from the Indies that have had great sucess in WWE recently. Punk, Cabana, Hero, Claudio, Danielson, Tyler Black, Moxley, etc.

I'd say the Wally shit has to play at least a small part. If Wally wasn't involved in the business at all it probably wouldn't be an issue but the main issue is his back. He either failed the WWE physical or knew he'd fail and didn't want his image hurt by being labeled "damaged goods"

It was probably a work by Gabe and Johnny all along. Remember two years ago when it was reported that Gargano "had been signed"? Speculation built if it was WWE or TNA. Turned out it was just Johnny signing to DGUSA.

Exactly. Gargano and anyone closely associated with him have been saying for years that the WWE was looking at him with the intent of signing him and it was just a matter of time for years? And suddenly he says no??? Not buying it. Either there was no deal on the table, or it was pulled.
